Grade 4 Scales and Arpeggios

Grade 4 Scales and Arpeggios

By Grade 4, students should be very familiar with playing quite a number of white-key major and minor scales with both hands. In this grade, 2 of the black key scales (B flat and E flat major), which are already introduced in the previous grade, will be required to be played both hands. The black key scales uses a different set of fingering each from the white key scales, so more practice would be required to remember them, especially if you have skipped the previous grade.

More arpeggios in Grade 4 are to be played both hands so more practice would be required especially for the black-key arpeggios which also uses a different set of fingering from the white key arpeggios.

Do check the whether it is supposed to be played 1 or 2 octaves, hands together or separately (as indicated above each scale). *Note that for minor scales, only harmonic minors are shown here.
For melodic minors, please go to this page All Minor Scales (melodic)
